I am a Ruby Sprowls a Detroit born Designer with H-attitude for creating hats and accessories for sun-sensitive women like myself.

High Street Design Detroit specializes in Handmade Custom Hats and Accessories for Fashionable Women for all Occasions with Photo-sensitivity caused by Disease or Medications.

My passion is hats, I own one to match every outfit. However, wearing broad-brimmed has become a necessity because at the ripe age of 63, I was diagnosed have Lupus.

I can remember the remnants of High Street in the Detroit community of Black-bottom section back in the day as part of the Brush Street community.

I was raised on Waterloo Street, here in Detroit, between Chene and Jos Campau. Back in the day on Saturday’s, we would walk downtown to J.L. Hudson’s and Crowley Milner’s.

Remember when our Thanksgiving day parade was televised on Thanksgiving morning just like the Macy’s parade and Santa stepped out of his sleigh into his winter wonderland on the top floor of Hudson’s.

My mother and grandmother put a hat on me all the time as a girl; it was expected for church and special occasions. Women wore hats and gloves in our church community and neighborhood.

I still love them today and I hope you'll enjoy wearing High Street Hats as much as I do!

To accomplish this goal, I decided that I would design and create stylish sun hats for women all seasons that protect your face, neck, and shoulders with flare.
